Prioff, Yaakov

Yaakov, son of Shlomo and Rachel-Victoria Prioff, was born in 1927 in Jerusalem, a third generation member of a well-known family in the Bukharan community. On November 29, 1947, he was called to service and took part in battles in the Manshiyeh sector, Abu Kabir and the Hatikva neighborhood. On 27 March 1949, he and his friend, Moshe-Balfour Levinson, fell and Yaakov was buried in Sheikh Badar B. On 21.6.1951. he was transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
