Prince, Mordechai

Ben Malka and Eliyahu. He was born on December 26, 1961, in Georgia, in the Soviet Union. When he was eleven, his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Be’er Sheva. He studied at Nirim Elementary School and continued his studies in the city’s fourth high school, in electronics. He has many hobbies, trips, sports, skydiving, diving, and more. At the end of October 1980, Mordechai was drafted into the IDF, and was assigned to the Paratroopers Brigade, where he underwent a basic training course, from basic training to officers’ training, to the Infantry Officers Course and served in various positions in the brigade. In 1985, he began his studies at Ben-Gurion University, specializing in electrical engineering and computers, and graduated with honors. During his studies, he was sent to Germany as part of an exchange of students for an electronics factory near Munich. In addition to his studies at the university, he taught in high schools. He also served as a security coordinator at Ben Gurion University. After graduating in 1989, he went on a long trip to Europe and returned with a lot of experiences, souvenirs and pictures, from the places he visited and from the people he met. During this period he began working at the Orbit electronics factory in Netanya, and moved to this city. He worked as a senior engineer in the factory and was responsible for the planning and execution of security projects, both for Israel and for import. In November 1991 he went on reserve duty as deputy company commander. On the 11th of Kislev 5752 (18.11.1991), he fell during his service. Mordechai perished in a road accident on his way from his unit to his home. He was buried in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. Survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the deputy commander of the platoon wrote: “Mordecai performed his duties as deputy commander of the Nesher Battalion, with remarkable devotion. We, his soldiers and commanders, express deep sorrow and participate in the mourning of the family. “Orbit gave his family an outstanding worker’s certificate, which it was decided to grant to Mordecai before his death.
