Prince, Meir-Michael (Micha)
My mother’s son (Ester-Golda) and Raphael-Philippe was born on August 23, 1929 in Magdiel. He graduated from the elementary school and the Tietz vocational school in Yagur. He worked as a liaison in Tel Aviv and in a British army camp in Netanya. He was active in the Haganah. During the War of Independence in February 1948, he was responsible for the class that guarded the Moshav Yarkona. In March he enlisted and was sent to Holon, Bat Yam, Hulda, Latrun and Hatzor. He participated in “Nachshon” activities, in the battles of Ibadis, Beit Daras, and an outpost near Nitzanim, where he excelled as a liaison. He miraculously escaped and withdrew with a heavy machine gun. After finishing a course in reconnaissance, he was responsible for the reconnaissance squads in his company. In the army he found his destiny. “I’m Simcha to hear every word about the action,” he wrote in his letters. There is no right for anyone, even for the government, to give up a dunam of our small state. ” During the “Yoav” operation to break through the Negev, there was a force that attacked the outposts of the Egyptian junction and went as a patrol before the main force. He moved forward and a shrapnel of shrapnel struck his head, and he fell on the spot on the day of the 17th of Tishrei, 5709 (October 17, 1948). He was laid to rest at the Warburg military cemetery.
