Pressler, Avraham
Avraham, son of Regina and Yosef Pressler, was born in 1928 in Braunschweig, Germany. He arrived in Israel with his parents in 1936 on the Galila ship and the family settled in Tel Aviv. With the outbreak of the War of Independence, he joined the ranks of the Alexandroni Brigade and took part in battles to repel the Arab attacks on the Jewish settlements around Kfar Saba. On 4 Iyar, May 13, 1948, he set out with his unit for the “Medina” operation to conquer the Arab village of Kfar Saba, where he fell. A memorial was erected in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, as his burial place is unknown.
