Poznarson, Mordechai-Chanoch
Mordechai, son of Tzipora and Moshe, was born on July 19, 1951 in Ramat Pinks. He spent his first two years studying at the Saadia Gaon School in Or Yehuda. He completed his elementary studies at the “Etzion” school in Tel Aviv, and later completed his high school studies in the religious-vocational school “Petach Tikva” in Petah Tikva. Throughout his studies, Mordechai lived in Ramat Pines. Mordechai was drafted into the IDF in October 1969 as part of the Nahal Brigade. He began his military service in the framework of the early army service, which he did on the religious Kibbutz Sa’ad. He is the target group of his Nahal Brigade. After basic training and after completing an agricultural training period in Kfar Darom, Mordechai was assigned to the parachuted Nahal Brigade, where he participated in a paratroop training course, while the last part of his military service was for a second period in Sa’ad. After he was released from regular service, he was called for periods of active reserve duty. Throughout his regular army service and reserve duty, Mordechai has excelled in his ability as a soldier and is considered an excellent and dedicated fighter. On the 17th of Tevet 5714 (14.1.1974) Mordekhai was hit and killed by an Egyptian sniper when he stood guard at an observation post at the outpost west of the Canal, and was brought to rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery, leaving behind his parents and sister. His parents donated a Torah scroll to his synagogue.
