Porat, Ali

Porat, Ali

Son of Menachem and Hannah. He was born on the 11th of Tammuz, 5706 (July 11, 1946) in Mizra. He graduated from elementary and high school there. Was a candidate for admission to the kibbutz. He was gifted with speech and thought; He knew how to cheer each Lev, playing his harmonica. He was always absorbed in something – from reading or handicrafts, because he was very inclined to art works in sculpture and painting. He was strong in body structure, loved sports and all kinds of hard work were loved by him and did not distinguish between one and the other. He was healthy in his soul and could not complain, to quarrel with a friend, and to quarrel with someone. In November 1964 he was drafted into the IDF, was in a parachuting course, and after a serious illness, while on regular service, he died on 19 January 1966. He was laid to rest in the Mizra cemetery. The kibbutz commemorates its internal information – “Ali Mizra.” On the first anniversary of his death, the kibbutz published a booklet containing the words of his teachers and his family, and photographs of his works and varied works in Uri Milstein’s book “Wars of the Paratroopers.”
