Pomerantz, Yael
Daughter of Yona and Meir. Born in Kfar Sava on September 15, 1926. Yael studied at an elementary school in Kfar Saba and graduated from the Herzlia Gymnasium in Tel Aviv, where she studied medicine, but in the absence of a medical school at the time, she continued her studies in the Faculty of Biology of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Yael was a member of the Scouts movement and later of Hashomer Hatzair. She worked as a counselor in the movement and joined the training of the Palmach in Degania Aleph. During her studies at the university, she joined HISH Jerusalem and was diligent in her studies and in fulfilling her national duties. On the 27th of Tammuz (15.7.1947), she died in an accident during a Hagana trip in the Gush Etzion area and was brought to eternal rest in the village cemetery. She left her parents, sister and brother, and her name is commemorated in a booklet that was published on the tenth anniversary of the Kfar Saba local council and the Kfar Saba boys’ school.
