Polonsky, Aryeh

Son of Zissel and Ephraim. He was born in 1910 in the city of Kobrin, Poland, to an old Zionist family. His father was the chairman of the Zionist Organization in his city and Aryeh grew up in an atmosphere of love for the country and his desire to immigrate to Eretz Israel. Aryeh went on a training year on behalf of the Hehalutz federation and after the 1929 riots managed to reach Eretz Israel and worked in the Petach Tikva orchards and paved roads. Aryeh saw his role in the police as a holy mission and persisted for eight years, and the Irgun and Lehi underground organizations suspected him of spying on them. On 29.5.1939, he was hot by Jewish assassins and died the next day, on the 12th day of Sivan, March 30, 1939. He was brought to eternal rest in the Jerusalem cemetery. He left a wife, parents and sister and his friends planted 10 trees in his name in the Hanita Forest.
