Born on February 15, 1932 in the city of Brasov, Romania, to a religiously observant family, he was the second son of six sons, and his family underwent the hardships of the Second World War, And then in the local Jewish school, he was a handsome, quiet and comfortable boy, Shmuel devoted himself to studies until he reached the age of 14, and then he wanted to acquire a practical profession. (And to the general school he became a hard-to-get Jewish boy), so he studied the trams with a private artist, and at the same time his older brother immigrated to Eretz Israel, and Shmuel strove to follow him. But he was not able to immigrate to Eretz Israel until the family immigrated to Israel in 1950. Toward the end of Shmuel’s service, three brothers were at the same time serving in the regular army. After he took off his uniform, Shmuel returned to his last place of work. Over time, he became a senior electrician in Isasbestos. He was elected to the workers’ committee of the factory and thanks to his energy, initiative and devotion, the workers achieved many professional achievements, in cooperation with the factory management. In 1959 he married Aliza from Nahariya, who was educated in “Aliyat Hanoar” and the young couple built his home there. They had three children. Son of – Eran, daughter – Dorit and daughter – Einat. Shmuel spent many reserve periods in the Armored Corps. The first baptism of fire took place during the Sinai Campaign, when he worked as a gunner in a tank that was then a new weapon in the IDF. In the Six-Day War, Shmuel took part with his brigade in the famous fighting in Samaria, and his company entered Nablus first, after being caught in a face-to-face battle with the Jordanian Patton battalion. After completing the war, he decided to work as an independent electrician, together with his brother, and they set up their factory in Karmiel, the new city in the Galilee, where the Yom Kippur War broke out, And Shmuel Shemer, in the framework of the Military Police, on security installations.
