Jacob, who was known by relatives and friends as “Kobi,” was a handsome, sociable boy with the qualities of a born leader, always surrounded by friends. After graduating from high school he went abroad with his family. He was an avid sports enthusiast and devoted all his spare time to his hobbies and his physical appearance. His favorite sport was running long distances. He was drafted into compulsory military service in the IDF in November 1990 and assigned to serve in the Givati ​​Brigade. Jacob fell in the line of duty on 26 Av 5710 (August 6, 1991) and was brought to rest in the Tzur Shalom Military Park in Haifa. He put his parents, sister and brother – Sarit and Yoni. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote that Kobi was an excellent soldier and member, who stood out as a leader in the course of the squad commanders, who wrote a song in his memory, noted his joy of life and his special kindness.
