He was born in 1917 in Nesviz, Poland, until his 12th year, when he was educated in a “cheder” and a yeshiva, studied diligently and found a quick understanding. Then he went to the Hebrew school Tarbut. He was a founding member of the Gordonia organization in his city and worked for its development, and he toured the towns, organized branches, and when the “Baalma” group was founded, his goal was to immigrate to Palestine and participate in the building. He was one of the first to go to the hachshara, where his organizational ability was revealed. The Zdonska company did much to improve the living conditions of the members and the relations between them, and was also active in the field of culture. For many months he wandered on his way to Eretz Israel, and when he finally came to Israel he found that the gates of the homeland were locked in his face, Because of his weakness and thinness, his doctor forbade him to engage in physical labor. His health deteriorated and he fell ill. When he got a little stronger, he went to work in every job and there was no end to his happiness. He began to joke, talk a lot, started a family, and hoped for a peaceful life. Due to his diligence, he was among the permanent members who worked on paving a new road in the area. On the 5th of Kislev (November 9, 1937), he and his four friends went to work and were attacked by a gang of murderers and killed on the spot. They are buried in Kiryat Anavim. Kibbutz Ma’ale Hachamisha is named after the five martyrs.
