Plzen, David


Son of Ida and Oscar. He was born on June 19, 1950 in Hadera. David studied at the Arlozorov Elementary School in Hadera and at the Amal vocational high school in the framework of frameworks. At the beginning of May 1968, David was drafted into compulsory military service and assigned to the infantry. He was sent to serve in the Golani Brigade, where he was assigned to a special training course for the machine gunners, and in November 1968 David went on a cooks course, Of compulsory military service. At the end of May 1985 David went to active reserve duty and served as a cook in his unit. His commander noted his special responsibility for his place of work and wrote: “With great diligence and devotion, it was important for David to report to his work early in the morning, out of concern that soldiers who enlisted on this day would have a full and warm lunch.” On June 10, 1985, David fell in the line of duty. He died during reserve service, on his way from a Shabbat holiday in Eilat to the unit where he served. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Eilat. Survived by Raya – Odette, daughter – Liraz and Son of – Amit, father, brother – Chaim and sister – Hannah.
