Pizi, Joseph (‘Yossi’)
Son of David and Magda. He was born on March 8, 1958 in Rishon Letzion. He studied at the Ramot Elementary School in Givat Hamoreh and in the Middle School at the regional high school in Afula. Afterward, he graduated from the high school in Kfar Yehoshua, in the humanitarian field. From his childhood, Yossi was an enthusiastic sports enthusiast. Participated in regional marches; He took a lifeguard course and was an avid rescuer. He played basketball, soccer and handball and devoted himself to the fencing industry. At the age of 12 he won second place in the Emek Izrael championship in this industry. He also successfully completed a youth training course in security and guarding roles. Yossi was a devoted son to his parents and loved the atmosphere of the house, his brother and his sister. As his friends and friends describe him, Yossi was “a man with the eyes of a child – sky-blue eyes, tall and handsome.” Yossi was drafted into the IDF in May 1976 and volunteered for the infantry as a paratrooper, during which he was injured in his knee and spent several months in a hospital. On the 23rd of Iyar 5737 (10.5.1977), at the end of the training season and the traditional parachute drop, Yossi fell in his role as a helicopter crash in the Jordan Valley, killing 54 soldiers. The military cemetery in Kfar Yehoshua left behind his parents, brother and sister.
