Pinkas, Mali


Daughter of Rosa and Yitzhak. Mali was born in Be’er Sheva on March 23, 1960. She was born at Soroka Medical Center, which was at the very beginning. Was the youngest in the family, and she had three brothers and two sisters. The father died when she was four years old. Mali attended the “Talmim” elementary school in neighborhood 6. She was very diligent, love to learn and her grades were always above average. She preferred to go to high school in the “Einot” agricultural boarding school near Nes Tziona, and completed her studies, including matriculation in agriculture, with high grades. At the end of her studies, Mali joined the army and served in the Air Force at the Ramon base. At the end of her service, she moved to her home in the central region, rented an apartment in Tel Aviv and in June 1982 joined the Israel Police. At first she served in the neighborhood station, in tour and movement positions. Later she was sent to a forensic technician training course. She then served at the Jaffa station and the Bat Yam station alternately, both as a forensic technician and as fingerprinting. Mali met Yoaz Pinkas in the police force. They married and in the following years they had two children: a daughter – Adva and Ben-Zohar. At first, the family lived in a three-room apartment on Elyashim Tzahal Street in Kiryat Sharet, Holon, and then moved to a new, large and spacious house in Modi’in. As a soldier, she published a booklet of poems by her name: “Shadow of Mountains as People”, published by Taga. She completed her degree at the university in literature and cinema, while working and caring for her family. Mali had colon cancer, underwent many treatments but her condition deteriorated. The rank of sergeant was given to her by the Commander of the Tel Aviv District, Commander of the Tel Aviv District, Commander of the Ayalon Region, Commander Exul in her bed, on her deathbed. On 5 Elul, September 2, 2003, Mali died at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer, and she was laid to rest in a military ceremony at the Holon cemetery.
