Pinci (Tzioni), Shaul (“Paul”)


Son of Tzadik and Chana. He was born on April 23, 1913, in Czechoslovakia. He immigrated to Israel in 1939 and from the time of his arrival he belonged to the Haganah. Was a stamp collector and received a gold medal as a prize for his collection; He was also a collector of ancient coins and discovered a silver coin from Bar Kochba’s time, His private library contained books of Hebrew history from the time of the Turks until the War of Independence. Was drafted into the IDF in May 1949 as part of the Artillery Corps and attained the rank of Major, and on 27 Kislev 5711 (December 6, 1950) he was killed in a battle on the way to Eilat and was buried in the military cemetery in Nahariya, 15.11.1951) was transferd and laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving a wife and two daughters.
