Petel, Zion

Zion was born in Rehovot on September 9, 1951. He attended the Chabad elementary school in Rehovot. Zion was a very sociable and easy-to-make boy, very friendly and very kind. His friends and acquaintances loved him for being courteous, kindhearted, pleasant, with a broad hand and an understanding soul. He was always willing to help anyone and never refused a friend who wanted to help him and did his best to help the weak. He excelled patiently and patiently and did not hold a grudge. He was naturally optimistic, Simcha, smiling and had a great sense of humor and liked to joke sometimes. Everyone knew him as an honest and conscientious man, handsome and demanding. He used to say directly and without hypocrisy that he thought, even harsh and unpleasant things. Be fair and sensitive to wrongdoings. To his parents, Zion was a loyal and devoted son, always caring for them, taking into consideration their wishes and honoring them. Zion was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early May 1969 and assigned to the Armored Corps, where he was trained in an armored personnel carrier course and assigned to a field unit of the IAF. He was an excellent APC driver and served as an example of soldiers in his unit, and all of them appreciated him for his good spirit and for his loyalty to the duties of his duties.
