Pesach, Shmuel (“Nichio”)


Son of Marco and Estheria. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, on December 10, 1942. After his family immigrated to Israel in 1949, he began studying at the Azar elementary school in Jaffa and after completing his studies he studied for two years at the Sokolov Gymnasium there. He tended to sea sport and amused himself with swimming and diving. He found his livelihood as a craftsman. He was drafted into the IDF in November 1959. After being discharged from the IDF, he was called up for reserve duty. In the meantime, the Six-Day War broke out and then he was in the midst of the war and served as a tank driver. Fell on the first day of its battles, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (5.6.1967), in a battle held near Gaza on the outpost of Ali Munter. He was buried in the military emergency cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
