Perry, Asher (‘Ushi’)
Asher ben Avraham (Aaron) and Bracha was born on 25th of Tamuz, July 26, 1954 in Jerusalem. He was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in early November 1972. He served in an Air Force anti-aircraft unit and in September 1974 completed an officers’ course with the rank of lieutenant colonel. In November 1974, Asher undertook regular service and began to hold various positions within the Air Force units; Among his duties he served as a battery commander and as an assistant operations officer. On the 20th of Nisan, April 27, 1978, Asher, who was on training duty in the Timna area, fell. Two years later on April 17, 1980, his body was reintered in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He left behind parents and a brother. After his death, he was promoted to captain.
