Perlstein, Moshe-Avigdor (Mozi)
Son of-Ella and Shmuel-Yosef, veteran Zionists and activists. He was born on 7 November 1925 in Jersey City, New Jersey, USA He studied at the Yeshiva of Rabbi Yitzhak Elchanan in New York and was a member and instructor of the Torah v’Avodah movement. In March 1947, he immigrated to Israel, spent some time in the Ein Hanatziv group, and later went to Jerusalem to study at the university in Jewish and agricultural studies to return to Orange Graduating to a working life. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, he saw a right to participate in the defense of the Yishuv in many battles for the defense of Jerusalem. He was among the members of the “Halachah” platoon, Palmach and Hachash fighters who were sent as reinforcements to Gush Etzion after the large attack on the Bloc on January 14, 1948. The fighters left Hartuv on the night of January 15-16, , But due to the late hour of departure and the difficulties of the road, they were unable to reach Gush Katif in the middle of the night, and were discovered by villagers in the area of Beit Natif, Jaba and Zurif, The battle “today) and fought with the masses of Arabs until they all fell in battle on the day of the 15th of Shevat 5708 (16.1.1948). Moshe-Avigdor was buried in Kfar Etzion. On the 17th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949), he was brought to eternal rest with the rest of the Bloc in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem
