Perlstein, Anshel (Adolf)
Anshel (Adolf) Perlstein, son of Necha (Nechama) and Shmuel Zeev Perlstein, was born on July 27, 1895 in the town of Zolkava in eastern Galicia, Poland. He completed high school for commerce and during the First World War he served as a sub-officer in the infantry of the Austrian army. After the war, Anshe emigrated to Berlin and did business. In 1938 he immigrated to Israel with his wife and son and continued to do business in Tel Aviv. In the winter of 1948, at the beginning of the fighting, Anshe took part in the defense of Bat Yam, where he lived and he fell on duty on the 19th of Adar 5708 (29.2.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
