Pereg, Patrick


Son of Mazal and Chaim. Patrick was born in Ofakim on the 31st of Elul 5732 (August 31, 1972). After graduating from high school, Patrick learned a literature course and worked in the profession, and at the same time guided youth in the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement, and as soon as he was drafted into the army, Patrick stood out for his leadership, ability and talents . He served in the undercover unit, successfully completed an officers’ course and returned to serve in the Judea and Samaria unit during his service as a team commander, and later in the position of commanding officer, participated in dozens of operations to capture wanted persons. Patrick was pleasant, quiet, loved and professional. He always said, “It’s good to die for our country.” During his regular service, Patrick began to complete his matriculation exams, and did so successfully. On April 4, 2002, Superintendent Patrick fell in combat in the Hebron area during Operation Defensive Shield. He was twenty-nine when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Ofakim. Survived by his wife and son, mother and four brothers and sisters. After his fall, Patrick was awarded the Police Service Medal.
