Pereg, Almog
Almog, son of Tamar and Yosef Pereg, was born in Be’er Sheva on October 19, 1993. He completed his high school studies at the Air Force Technical School in his city. The teachers, counselors and friends loved the energetic, hilarious boy of the class and the group. Before Shabbat, he used to bring his mother flowers and help with housework. His friends tell of his kindness, and they turned to him with every question or problem because he showed understanding and expertise in many areas, always tried to make peace, was a friend of everyone and gave generously.
He completed basic training on the technical base in Haifa and was assigned to the Air Force’s technical system. He served in the 69 “Hammersmith” squadron at Hatzerim base. Four days after he bought a long-awaited motorcycle, at midnight on the night of Friday, March 28, 2014, he left his home to spend time with friends. On the motorcycle, Almog collided with a truck parked at the exit from Be’er Sheva. He was twenty and a half years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva. He was promoted after his fall to the rank of sergeant. At the scene of the accident, friends of Almog planted two olive trees, and his brother Ayalon dedicated a paroches in his memory in the synagogue he used to pray in in Rechovot.
