After completing his elementary studies, he studied at the Amal vocational high school, also in Be’er Sheva . He was a vigorous young man who was active in the Scouts movement and later in the city’s target shooting department. Israel was also a sports fan, and twice a week he practiced gymnastics. He planned his future, and his plan was – after he was discharged from military service – to continue to study and to specialize in fine mechanics. Israel was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-May 1968. He was enthusiastic about his service and spoke enthusiastically about the tank to which he devoted all his energy and love, and the commander would commend him for his dedication to his position. Once his father suggested that he ask for a transfer from his unit, which was found in the territories, but Israel said with a laugh: “I am a jovnik, no way! and so it was. On 24 May 1970, Israel fell in the area of the Suez Canal with his friend and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva.
