Peleg, Yonatan (Yoni)


Son of Tamar (Josian) and Joseph. Yoni was born on the 29th of Tishrei 5743 (29.9.1982) in Netanya.Yoni studied at the “Sinai” elementary school, a Jewish school of the Chabad movement in Paris where he studied religious and secular studies, and was therefore an outstanding student, so the teachers found it difficult to punish him even when he did not do homework. And in the summer of 1995 the family immigrated to Israel, and shortly before the parents parted, and in June he moved to live with his father in Moshav Yanuv, his mother and his sister lived in Tel Aviv. He completed a wireless course at the School of the IDF Corps, a course that suited his interest in computers, which he completed with honors. Yoni fell in a terrorist attack at the gate of the Tzrifin base on 12 Elul, September 9, 2003. Yoni was twenty-one when he fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Moshav Yanuv. He was promoted to sergeant after his death. Yoni left parents, a big sister – Shirley, and half brothers Gal and Tal. For full memorial, see Hebrew bio.
