Peled, Yair


Son of Pinchas and Sheindel, one of the first residents of Yagur. He was born on the 13th of Shvat 1932. He completed his studies in the following classes of the school there, and was active in the Hakibbutz Hameuhad Brigade and as a youth counselor he toured all the regions of the country. The reserve forces joined the regular army and served in the rank of captain, and with the help of his unit, the “Ma’aleh HaE’elim” in the Sodom region was breached for the first time in order to ensure the safety of anyone who passed through it. The Egyptian on the 4th of Elul 5709 (7.9.1959) and was brought to rest in his land. He left a wife and a daughter. About a month after his death, Gilad was promoted to his memory in “Ma’aleh Ha-Ya’alim”.
