Peled (Pleshkes), Hanan (“Henna”)


Son of Dov Hacohen and Aliza. His father was a doctor of veterinary medicine. He was born on the 26th of Adar Alef 5745 (March 6, 1940) in Sarid. At the age of 10, he became one of the founders of the Air Force, and five years later he received wings, attended elementary school in Tel Adashim and Kiryat Tivon, one year at the Kiryat Tivon High School and finally at the technical school of the Hebrew Technion in Haifa. He loved folk dancing and joined the IDF in August 1958. In August 1958 he was drafted into the IDF, and after his regular service he remained in the permanent army. He completed a course and a course for pilots. He reached the rank of lieutenant, and on the 29th of Adar 5762 (April 4, 1962), in the course of his duties, he fell and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. A year-long competition takes place in Kiryat Tivon in his memory.
