Pearl, Reuben

Son of Anshel and Bella. He was born on December 20, 1946 in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Zvi Shapira Elementary School, continued his studies at the “Shevach” vocational school and graduated with the “Safra” school for matriculation. He was a disciplined and kind boy, ready to fulfill the wishes of parents and friends. He was a member of the Hanoar Haoved youth movement and was active in it. Excelled in manual labor and meticulous planning of everything he undertook to do. He also completed a course for battalion commanders in the Gadna. He joined the army at the beginning of August 1965, and as a professional he was assigned to an armament. Thanks to his professional talent, he found a wide field of action, and Reuven quickly advanced on the professional and command scale. He married a wife and had a daughter. He successfully completed an officers’ course and a parachuting course, but he did not tell about this course until after the fact, because he did not want to worry his parents and his wife. Most of his service in the IDF was responsible for the professional buildings department, and Reuven invented a system for testing tests and was awarded an optimization award for this invention, but Reuven did not shut himself up in his fields. He was a commander who took care of his subordinates and “ran” himself to solve their problems. He participated with his soldiers in the four-day marches. His commanders, who admired him very much, noted him as “a quiet person, doing his job well, achieving good achievements in his field of work, and a good professional.” On 21.8.1972, Captain Reuven died during his service. He left a wife and a baby daughter, parents and a sister. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
