Paz, Yosef (Yossi)
Son of Ilana and Eli. He was born on July 13, 1969 in Haifa. At the end of his elementary studies, he continued at the Nahariya High School in the biological track. Prior to his enlistment in the IDF, Yossi received summons for the naval team, for missile boats. At the same time, he took the exams for a military band and indeed, in terms of his artistic abilities and abilities, passed the tests. Due to his high profile, he was not accepted into a military band. In the middle of November 1987, Yossi was drafted into the IDF and was sent to serve in the Northern Command, where he was determined and consistent with his views and served as a personal example. On August 18, 1988, Yossi fell in the line of duty. He died in a traffic accident near the Beit Yanai junction, on his way from an officer’s inspection to his base. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents, sister Meirav and Ah Shalom. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “The joy of life filled Yossi at all hours of the day … He performed his duties with stubbornness and thoroughness that arouse wonder and respect.”
