Son of Dina and Asael Gabriel was born on August 5, 1964, in Kibbutz Ein Hanatziv in the Beit Shean Valley, where his mother is a member of the Yavneh group and his father is a member of Kibbutz Ein Hanatziv. Yiftach was the third generation in the family, one of the founders of the religious kibbutz. Yiftach studied the twelve years of his studies at the joint school in Sde Eliyahu. He was active in the children’s group and at school. And a member of the Bnei Akiva youth movement. Yiftach was a sports fan and served as a captain in the Elitzur football team, Ein Haneziv, and he also had a talent for drawing, but he did not have time to develop it. In the field of “fish breeding in reservoirs” and was awarded the Ministry of Education Prize for his work, and his dedication and commitment to the mission were evident in his work. In his room Yiftach cultivated an aquarium, and Yiftach enlisted in an aviation course, and after about a year went to the Artillery Corps and completed a course for artillery commanders and a cadet course In Lebanon he served as commander of the post-a-Shuf crossing, and Yiftach was meticulous in his observance of the commandments, and even in the most difficult conditions, he did not give up his principles. Before his enlistment in the IDF, he studied at the yeshiva, and on his first vacation he went to the yeshiva for a few days before coming to his home .Yiftach was a member of his class from a neighboring kibbutz, Shifra, who was preparing to marry her, He was raised to the rank of lieutenant after his death, and his commandant wrote to his family that Yiftach was endowed with great nobility and peace of mind, and it was clear to him that it would be carried out in its entirety and at its best.
