Partush, Yaakov
Was born in Holon on December 19, 1963. He began his studies at the Hess elementary school, moved to Revivim School and completed nine years of study, and at an early age he set out for odd jobs, In order to help support his family, and in the course of time he trained as a truck driver, and in November 1981 he joined the IDF. To help him deal with the difficult problems of his family, he was assigned to serve as a driver in a quartermaster unit near his home. Despite the difficulties he was in, he tried to fulfill his obligations to the IDF, and he was even recommended to be promoted to corporal. On Rosh Hashana, on the 17th of Tishrei 5743 (17.9.1982), Jacob spent the holiday on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, sailing in a rubber boat to the sea, away from the beach, and a sudden storm swept him deep into the sea. Was buried in the military cemetery in Holon and left behind his parents, brother and two sisters. The commander of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family: “Yaakov served in my unit, performed his duties in a good manner, with responsibility and devotion, and was loved by his friends and commanders.” A memorial plaque was installed in the Moshe and Aharon Synagogue in Holon
