Son of Rivkah and Rahamim. He was born on January 1, 1967 in Lydda and studied at Bialik Elementary School in his city. He completed his studies at the ORT high school in Lod. In high school, he began his studies in electronics, and after a while he switched to mechanics, where he found more interest. His teachers say he was a good student, liked to help teachers and friends and always headed the organizers. And was therefore nicknamed ‘the guy with the golden Lev’. Gershon David, the pedagogic center, says: “From the very beginning of his career in the school, he was discovered to be a responsible young man who was very clever and capable, and Yossi proved to be a special kind of guy who brought up leaders and commanders, all of whom were willing to follow. Yossi was lean, but he had the qualities of a leader. “Yossi turned out to be a true leader when he was appointed to be an apprentice, and everyone, without exception, heard and did exactly as he wanted,” he says. Yossi aspired to be an officer, but did not achieve his ambition. On December 26, 1985, four days before his ninth birthday and only four months after his enlistment, he fell while fulfilling his duties and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Lod. Survived by his parents and three brothers – Ronen, Yair and Yaniv. In a letter of condolences to the family, the unit commander wrote: “As a soldier in the company, Yossi was very motivated to succeed in all his actions. His parents donated a study and study library to Lod College. His comrades in the company published a pamphlet in his memory, including some of his characters. In the high school where he studied, a soccer tournament is held in his honor every year, and the Hapoel Lod team, where he played, named after her soccer school. On the eighth anniversary of his downfall an article was published about him in the local newspaper “Brosh Ish”
