Paris, Yaakov


Son of Fredel and Zvi Hersch. Jacob was born in Israel on December 18, 1952. He joined the IDF in September 1983 and served in the Israel Air Force as part of the military rabbinate. At the end of 1989, he joined a career army service, serving as a rabbi at the Air Force base. Yaakov married Miriam and together they brought seven children to the world: Ariel, Netanel, Noam, Shira, David, Avraham and Zvi. The family lived in Kiryat Sefer (Modi’in Illit). After his wife’s death, Jacob alone raised their seven children. Major Yaakov fell during his service on 7 Sivan, 7 June 2003 after a serious illness, and was buried at the Segula cemetery in Petach Tikva, leaving seven children, a mother, a brother and two sisters.
