Parchiya, Avraham Ben-Zion
Son of Leah and Aharon, was born on the 22nd of Sivan, June 14, 1925 in the city of Salonika, Greece. He immigrated to Israel in 1929 and lived in Tel Aviv. Immediately after the outbreak of the War of Independence on November 29, Avraham Ben-Zion joined the campaign and served in the Givati Brigade, participated in many battles in the south of the country and participated in the convoy to Gat and Gal-On. On the 10th of Adar 2 5708 (March 21, 1948) he was sent with the reinforcements to Nitzanim. On the way they were attacked by the enemy and a six-hour battle broke out. Avraham fell, in a armored vehicle with three of his friends. He was buried in Be’er Tuvia. On the 29th of Tishrei 5710 (10.10.1950) he was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
