Pagirsky, Dr. Chaim


Born in Lithuania, where he acquired his medical education and immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1932. Haim settled in Tel Aviv, worked as a volunteer physician in the Hadassah organization and was loved and admired by his colleagues and acquaintances. At the outbreak of the Second World War, Dr. Chaim Pagirsky accepted the call of the National Institutions and volunteered, as a physician, to the British Army, and was assigned to a military hospital in the Western Desert, On 22 Shvat, February 9, 1942, he died and was brought to eternal rest in a British military cemetery in Alexandria, leaving a wife and two children. He was 70 years old when he died.
