Ozeri, Daniel (“Danny”)
The youngest son of David and Sarah. Born in Jerusalem on October 1, 1951 with a twin brother Amnon, he graduated from the “Alliance” elementary school for boys in Jerusalem and was an active member of the “Maccabi” club in Jerusalem. . He liked social life, was easy to socialize and accepted. After graduating, Daniel moved to Kibbutz Gaaton in the Western Galilee and joined a youth group. Danny was a quiet, self-absorbed boy, and at first he found it hard to adapt to the kibbutz society’s way of life. He studied, worked and read a lot. During his free time he was engaged in sports, especially soccer. He was deeply attached to his noble family and tried to visit them at every opportunity. His friends from Ga’aton, who used to travel to Jerusalem to get to know his home, found a warm home, a proud father and a mother – a working and strong wife who raised her sons with hard labor. She opened the door to her house and also her Lev. One of his friends wrote: “From this house we understood better the quiet boy with the spark of pride that suddenly ignited in his black eyes.” He was drafted into the IDF at the end of July 1969 and joined the Nahal Brigade. During his military service, he was very popular with all his friends and commanders. After serving for about a year, he took a driving course and was assigned to the liaison corps as a heavy truck driver. On the 17th of Sivan 5731 (10.6.1971), he fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
