Ozani, Shai
Ben Surya and Zechariah (Yahya). He was born on March 24, 1976 in Netanya, the city where he grew up and grew up. Shai was the son of his mother’s indulgences and was flattered by warmth and love. His education at home was about the values of Torah and Judaism. He began his studies at the “Horev” ultra-Orthodox school in Netanya and continued at the “Or Gaon” junior high school in Bnei Brak. He attended the “Or Torah” yeshiva in Tel Aviv and in the eleventh and twelfth grades he attended the “Religious Youth Center” in Netanya. Shai was an admired and beloved member, because of the calm he displayed and the loyalty and caring he displayed. He always remembered the birthdays of his family and friends, gave attention and was ready to help. In his free time Shay kept his physical fitness and devoted a great deal of time to training and developing the body. To this end he even built himself a private gym, where he also taught and trained his friends, who envied his abilities and his sturdy and well-built body. Shai’s dream was to be a professional boxer and to achieve international achievements. In August 1994 Shai joined the IDF with a high degree of motivation and began his service as part of the Border Police unit, where he became a professional soldier with excellent abilities. During his last service, Shai trained the Jerusalem team in preparation for the general shooting competition of the Border Police, on the eve of the competition to which he trained his soldiers Shai fell in the line of duty when the jeep he was driving overturned. He was twenty years old when he fell. He was buried in the Netanya military cemetery. Survived by his parents and brothers and sisters – Sharona, Hagit, Aviad and Eleanor. The son of his sister Sarona, who was born two months after his fall, is named after him, Shai-Chai-Doron. His brother, Aviad, wrote in his memory: “Shay was a great hero, he would have sacrificed everything. He wanted everything to happen / and he worked hard. / Shai was really eternal. This is how big you are. / To bring water you traveled, / To your friends you volunteered / / You went on a dangerous course, / Oh woe, we were not in the field, But we are sure we will remember you brother / Every moment in our lives. “You have trained your soldiers, you have trained them to serve the country / courageously and with pride.” So keep the world safe, because only you can. “
