Eitan-Alexander, son of Tatyana and Jacob, was born on August 23, 1954, in Tashkent, Russia, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1960. He studied at the Herzlia elementary school in Lod, He completed his studies at the Azrieli Regional School in Lod-Ramle, and was fond of his teachers and was fond of all his acquaintances, who called him nicknames Shai, or Sascha, who listened to music and was a sports fan. – the high school was the lowest of his friends, and was known as “little Shai.” But in his final year he was a solid, muscular man whose head was decorated with especially long hair. He had many plans for the future, and he even prepared to study at the Wingate Institute and become a gymnastics teacher, and before his enlistment he successfully passed entry examinations for the naval commando unit, but he was able to help his father with his livelihood. Eitan-Alexander was drafted into the IDF in October 1972. After basic training and after completing his course in radio training and in the parachuting course, he was a radio operator in the Paratroopers Brigade. He was a devoted soldier and a model friend of his unit. During the Yom Kippur War, Sassi fought on the Sinai front, during the fierce fighting against the Egyptians.
