Oshri, Avindav (Avi)
Son of Tzipporah and Shlomo, was born in Tel Aviv on June 29, 1955. My father began his studies in a religious elementary school, and later studied at Max Payne High School, In 1974, my father enlisted in the IDF and was assigned to the Armored Corps. After completing his army service, my father married Debbie and they had a daughter and a son. He was a devoted husband and a warm father to his children. In the summer of 1984 my father was called up for reserve duty. As part of his job, he took a walking tour of Khan Yunis, as commander of a squad of four men. In the afternoon he suddenly felt ill. He was rushed to the hospital, but all the doctors’ attempts to save him failed. After ten days of struggle for his life, my father died on August 13, 1984 and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left behind a wife, daughter and son, parents and three sisters. His family donated a Torah library to the Or Yisrael Synagogue in Givat Amal, Tel Aviv
