Orpaz, Ze’ev (Zevik)
Ze’ev (Zevik), Ben Zippora and Menachem-Mendel, was born on August 25, 1949.Ze`ev was drafted into the IDF in late October 1967 and volunteered for the Armored Corps. After completing basic training, he completed a tank artillery course. After that, he was appointed a guide in an armored base in the artillery section. During the War of Attrition in the Sinai, he spent many days in the line of fire. In the Yom Kippur War, Ze’ev fought on the Sinai front. During the first days of the war, his tank was hit and he was evacuated and then attached to the crew of another tank. After the success, she was attached to a unit that fought to expand the corridor to the forces moving towards the bridgehead. On October 21, 1973, the day before the ceasefire, Ze’ev was killed in the central sector of the Suez Canal at the “Missouri” post. At first, he was considered absent, then was declared where his burial place was unknown. His body was later identified and he was brought to eternal rest in the Kibbutz Shamir cemetery. He was survived by a father, a mother, and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant.
