Orlyansky, Ami-Chai (Ami)
Son of Raaya and Yehuda was born on April 14, 1925 in Tel Aviv. He studied at the Tachkemoni School in Jerusalem and later at the School for Workers Children in Tel Aviv. In early January 1948 he was sent to the Jerusalem front. On the 15th of Shvat 5708 (25.1.1948), he left with his department to secure the passage of a convoy, in light of reports of enemy concentrations in the area of the Castel. The unit encountered an Arab reinforcements force from Beit Surif, and in the battle that developed, he was wounded in the chest and died of his wounds. Was brought to rest in a grave in the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim. “Amichai publishing” owned by his family is named after him.
