Oren, Yosef

Yosef, son of Adele and Rafael Oren, was born in Romania in 1926. In 1948 Yosef immigrated to Israel with his wife Chana. He did his military service in the Negev Brigade, which was based in Faluja. In March 1953, out of love and a desire to contribute to the state, Yosef volunteered for the ranks of the Border Police. On 15 Tamuz, June 24, 1956, on a tour of the Jordanian border in the Qalqiliya area, Yosef was wounded and killed. He was thirty when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Haifa and was survived by his wife Hannah and his son Yaakov.
