Son of Michael and Willa. He was born on November 13, 1957, in Warsaw, Poland. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1968. He studied at the elementary school in Warsaw, and when he immigrated to Israel he continued his studies at the David Stone Elementary School in Jerusalem, where he studied at the Ort-Neviim School in Jerusalem, but abandoned the school When he was in the twelfth grade, he took an external matriculation exam and was awarded a “very good” grade. He was a good and serious student and he especially loved history. In high school, where he studied fine mechanics, Christophe preferred Bible studies, history, chemistry and physics, and because he was a weak and shy boy, he decided to improve his physical ability to make it easier for him to integrate into society and defend himself when necessary. To engage in judo, as part of a YMCA judo class, and took time to lift weights and develop the body at the community center in Kiryat Yovel in Jerusalem. He also took part in a fencing and swimming class at the Hebrew Youth House in Jerusalem. As a child, Christophe joined the Scouts youth movement and later moved to Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed in the Kiryat Yovel neighborhood. In his devotion, he served as an example for many young people of his age, and we recognized him as a quiet, dedicated and capable young man, and a readiness to fulfill the roles of others. “Before his induction into the IDF, Christoph increased his physical fitness training, To be accepted into an elite field unit. In the time he remained until his induction, he stayed at Kibbutz Na’an as part of the Nahal Brigade, and was drafted into the IDF in February 1977. After basic training, he was sent to an aircraft technicians course at the technical school in Haifa. He was a serious soldier and acceptable to his friends and subordinates, but he did not like his military profession and he hoped to move to a field unit. On the 17th of Sivan 5737 (5.6.1977) Christophe fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by his parents and sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Private Christophe was a quiet and disciplined soldier, and he fulfilled his duties with dedication and diligence. He loved to help his friends in every problem and was admired and accepted by all of us.” His family planted in his memory a grove of 1000 trees in the Jerusalem Forest
