Olansky, Shlomo
Shlomo, son of Shoshana and Michael, was born on September 5, 2222, in Traub, Poland, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1935. He studied for several years in a yeshiva in the city of Lithuania, Poland, and after his immigration he wanted to continue his studies, Had to come to his father’s aid to support the household. A refuge from his disappointment found reading. In the early years, after immigrating to Israel, he was a member of the Zionist youth movement in Hadera. When he was eighteen, he moved to Shfeya and became a police officer there. But after two he left and went back to her room to help his father. During those years he joined the Haganah. Shlomo was drafted into the IDF in mid-May 1948. During the Yom Kippur War he served in the ranks of the Haganah in his role as command gazelle. On the 17th of Tishrei 5734 (13.10.1973), Shlomo died during his service and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Holon. He left behind a wife and two daughters, a father, a mother, three brothers and three sisters. After his death he was promoted to sergeant. His commander attests to him, who was admired and accepted by all his comrades in his unit, and performed all his duties with loyalty and with infinite devotion. He was a loyal and precious soldier.
