Ohayon, Yehuda

Son of David and Aziza. He was born in 1952 in Morocco and on his fourth year immigrated to Israel with his family. The family first lived in Kiryat Shmona, then moved to Haifa and finally settled in Yavneh. Yehuda attended the “Rabban Gamliel” elementary school in Yavneh and then continued at the vocational high school in Ashdod, in the carpentry track. Yehuda was deeply religious and was careful to set times for the Torah. Yehuda volunteered for the army in mid-November 1969 and was only 17 years old. He wanted to volunteer for a combat unit, but because he was religious and law-abiding, he was appointed by the military rabbinate as a kashrut supervisor in the canal sector. Yehuda did not settle for this position, he underwent a cooks course and was ordained as a fortress cook. He did his job calmly and calmly, and did his job unquestioningly. He devoted his love to his friends to cooking, so that they would be satisfied. Yehuda took care of his friends very much and also found his death because of concern for a soldier who did not know what to do during the shelling. Yehuda, who told him what to do, did not manage to find shelter for himself. On the 5th of Nissan 5770 (1.5.1970), Yehuda Terash was killed in a battle in the Suez Canal and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Moshav son of Zakkai, a place in his memory at the Rabban Gamliel School in Yavne, where he studied.
