Nissim (Maxim), son of Rachel and David, was born on April 17, 1955 in Casablanca, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in early October 1959. He studied at the Weizmann elementary schools He was a quiet student who, like all his friends, did not ask for the extravagance and artificial prominence, his diligence and precision in his work, his perception of his work, And his ability to apply the theory to the deed, earned him a deep appreciation among all his teachers, he was tall and gentle, he had integrity, sincerity toward his friends, and honesty towards himself Nissim was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1973 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade. His parents wanted to dissuade him, but he rejected their request. “If that’s the way all parents will go, who will go?” He told them. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Nissim was in Merhav Shlomo, in southern Sinai, where his unit fought the Egyptian commandos who landed there and Nissim hit some of them. From there he was transferred to Abu-Rhodes. On October 10, 1973, he was killed in the bombing of enemy planes. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was survived by a father, mother, three brothers and three sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal. His commander testifies to him, that he was a good soldier and a loyal friend of his unit, and he gave it to his commanders. He was an excellent physical fitness and a good gunner, “who always burst forward with the first.” His parents planted a grove in his memory; The Arava School devoted a memorial plaque to the memorial at the school.
