Ohayon, Haim


Son of Itza and Shalom, was born on the 22nd of Kislev 5765 (22.11.1964) in Ashkelon. Haim completed eight years of schooling at Assaf School, and then completed his studies at the Rogozin High School in the mechanics track. In February 1983 he enlisted in the IDF and served in the IAF as a jet mechanic, he took a mechanics course, and in July 1983 he was promoted to corporal. During his service in the IAF, he was seriously injured in his work and his health level was impaired. On July 6, 1984, Chaim went with his brother-in-law to swim in Ashkelon’s dune, and his body was found the next day at the Ashkelon beach, where he was buried at the military cemetery in Zaklun. His family acquired a Torah scroll for the Ohel Avraham Synagogue in his city, and left behind his parents, six sisters, and a brother in a letter of condolence to his family: “Haim was a disciplined and quiet soldier and fulfilled his duties in the best possible way”
