Ohayon, Eliyahu
Son of Mordechai and Esther. Born on March 12, 1951 in Casablanca, Morocco, he immigrated to Israel with his family in Tel Aviv, where he studied at the Rashi elementary school and at the vocational high school “Torah and Crafts” -Spring. He was an outstanding athlete and never missed a chance to participate in national sports, such as marches and runs. In his spare time he devoted himself to organizing sports activities in his neighborhood and made a tremendous effort to be an athlete, but at the same time he kept the religious commandments. Eliahu was drafted into the IDF in November 1968. On May 18, 1970, six days after he was wounded in the course of his duties, he died of his wounds and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. And in Dimona, by many libraries and religious objects donated to his name and memory.
