Ofri, Yitzhak


Son of Yechiel and Sarah. He was born on March 3, 1924 in Jerusalem and completed an elementary school in Tel Aviv. He used to box in Hapoel, but after he got married, he quit. Yitzhak was drafted into the IDF in May 1948 and after his discharge from regular army service he was called for periods of reserve service, and when he left, he would say, “This is a sanitarium for me.” He was a veteran fighter and a member of the Hagana, , Who participated in Israel’s three wars: the War of Independence, the Sinai Campaign, and the Six-Day War, and was called to reserve duty in May 1969. On May 16, 1969, he fell in the Jordan Valley with an artillery artillery attack. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
