Between the ages of four and six, he discovered the first signs of understanding and curiosity in the exact field of science. He understood the meaning of ‘three dimensions’, positive and negative numbers, positive and negative ones. Then he also tried to understand the significance of the fourth dimension. With mathematical and abstract understanding, he was very unusual about his peers, and often did not understand why his friends did not understand or show no interest in his words. Shai began his first year at Ramim School in Givatayim. They immediately stood up for his skills and sought ideas that would enhance his ability. He participated in gifted children’s groups at Bar-Ilan University where he studied physics, chemistry and computers. As a child he was active in the swimming sector of the Neve Monosson Club, participated in swimming competitions, and several times succeeded in the Kinneret in Hapoel. He was a member of the Scouts movement in the “Maccabim” tribe in Neve Monosson. Shai dealt with the subject of computers even when this field was not common knowledge. He did not have notebooks; He only put things in writing when he had to submit jobs to teachers – everything was in his head. In 1981, after graduating from elementary school, he traveled with his family on a mission to the United States, where he began his high school studies. Despite the difficulties of language, he soon became absorbed in the school and excelled in the real subjects he studied in the higher grades. Shai was blessed with a sharp analytical brain and clear, clear mathematical thinking, and took part in mathematics and computer competitions. At the end of two years, the family returned to Israel and Shai began his studies in the physical track at the comprehensive high school in Yehud. Here too he stood out above everyone else. Shai was known as an original guy with a special sense of humor. “We published a number of jokes and cartoons in the school newspaper, and as Shai’s head was not limited by any challenge, so was his sense of humor, the jokes caused a great uproar, and the school newspaper even closed for a while, What … But the readers laughed and laughed. ” At the beginning of the twelfth grade, he was summoned to the Talpiot project – high studies in mathematics, physics and computers at the university as part of compulsory army service. He successfully passed all stages of the tests, including officer’s assessments, with the highest grade, and was accepted into the project. Shai finished his matriculation exams and everything seemed clear. His military career was clear, and the courses matched his skills and plans for the future, after his military service. In mid-July 1985 he was drafted into the IDF and began the long and interesting course of the Talpiot project, which Shai enjoyed being a student in the IDF.
