Nydregofer, Carol
Son of Lola and Boris. He was born on the 27th of Tishrei 5729 (27.9.1968) in Czernowitz in the Soviet Union and immigrated to Israel with his mother, grandfather and grandmother in 1978. From an early age, Karol discovered pride and understanding of life, and continued his elementary studies in the Soviet Union, The Horowitz Comprehensive Ort High School in Karmiel until the end of the thirteenth grade. Despite the hardships he had as a new immigrant, Kroll managed to overcome all obstacles, progress in his studies, and achieve good results. His teacher, Ora Marcus, attests that he was diligent, pleasant and very devoted to his family. “At school we saw an exemplary student in all aspects, educational, social and personal.” His dream was to be a researcher and help people. Carol was loved by his many friends. In his free time he liked running long distances, painting and playing chess with great skill. At the beginning of July 1986, Karol was drafted into the IDF’s compulsory army service, and after completing basic training, he was placed in the recruitment center in Haifa as a driver, enabling him to be close to his family and to assist them on February 26, 1988. Karol during his service and was put to rest in the military section of the Karmiel cemetery. Survived by his parents. In a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “Karol z” l served in our unit for eight months as a driver, and performed his duties in a modest manner with all the difficulties that stood in his way. We have no words to express the magnitude of our pain and our sincere participation in your mourning. “
